Medicaid customers are more satisfied with their coverage than commercial health plan members, according to J.D. Power’s Managed Medicaid Special Report.
The study calculated satisfaction on a 1,000 point scale based on six factors -- provider choice, coverage and benefits, customer service, cost, information and communication and claims processing. The report found on average Medicaid enrollees had a 78 point higher satisfaction score than those with commercial plans.
The study also discovered Medicaid recipients said provider choice was the most important element of customer satisfaction, those with commercial insurance said it was coverage and benefits.
