The unhealthiest dishes at American chain restaurants were revealed in the “2017 Xtreme Eating Awards.” The awards are put together by nutrition advocacy group Center for Science in the Public Interest.
The Cheesecake Factory made the list twice, winning the “worst adapted pasta” and “worst cocktail design.” Cheesecake Factory’s new Pasta Napoletana is touted as being like a meat lover’s pizza in pasta form. You get more than an entire day’s worth of calories in the dish -- 2,310 -- and get this -- 79 grams of saturated fat and 4,370 milligrams of sodium. The “Flying Gorilla,” a chocolate banana milkshake with chocolate and alcohol, is “like kicking off your meal by pouring a 20 oz. Budweiser over five scoops of Breyers Chocolate ice cream,” says the CSPI. Almost a day’s worth of calories in a drink, folks! 950 with 26 grams of saturated fat and 60 grams of added sugar.
Other heart attack inducing meals on the list -- Chili’s Ultimate Smokehouse Combo -- 2,440 calories and Buffalo Wild Wing’s Cheese Curd Bacon Burger -- 1,950 calories.
