Jordan’s military released surveillance video of an attack by a Jordanian soldier that left three U.S. Army Green Berets dead at an air base last year. The soldiers were killed in November after their convoy came under fire at the entrance of a southern Jordan air base.
In the video you see a Jordanian soldier open fire at the convoy even after the U.S. soldiers wave their arms in surrender. Two of the men get out of the vehicle and take cover by some barriers. The soldier follows them and guns them down. One of the four soldiers survived.
Fox News reports Jordan initially claimed the U.S. soldiers didn’t follow proper protocol, but later changed their position. Last week the Jordanian soldier was sentenced to life in prison. The soldier claimed he was only doing his duty. Hundreds of people protested the conviction.
CBS News reports the Jordanian military said the soldier “acted against orders and military instructions and had not acted in self-defense.”
