U.S. Slaps Sanctions on Iran Over Ballistic Missile Program

The U.S. announced new sanctions against Iran on Tuesday over its ballistic missile program. The move came a day after the Trump administration certified that Iran is complying with the nuclear deal signed with the U.S. and other countries, but not the “spirit” of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Reuters reports the sanctions target 18 individuals or entities supporting “illicit Iranian actors or transnational criminal activity.”
