ISIS Claims Responsibility for Two Attacks in Iran

Gunmen and suicide bombers targeted Iran’s parliament and the tomb of the nation’s revolutionary leader Wednesday, killing at least 12 people and wounding 42 others. The attacks were about a half hour apart. ISIS has claimed responsibility for the twin attacks.

NBC News reports the incidents were the first terrorist related incidents in Tehran in more than a decade.

The New York Times reports four of the assailants were killed at the Parliament and two at the tomb by security forces.
