Iraqi Forces Recapture Key Mosul Government Buildings from ISIS

Iraqi forces have recaptured key government buildings from ISIS in western Mosul. The Washington Post reports elite police units retook the main government compound in Mosul from the Islamic State in a surprise overnight raid.

Reuters reports forces recaptured the central bank branch and the museum where three years ago ISIS militants made a video of themselves destroying statues.

Reuters also reporting Iraq's Counter Terrorism Service continues to move into western Mosul in the final battleground of nearly five-months of fighting.

The Independent reports the United Nations says more than 211,000 people have been displaced since the campaign began.
