Authorities have arrested a former journalist in connection to at least eight of a wave of bomb threats to Jewish community centers and schools around the country. It was apparently part of a bizarre plot against his ex-girlfriend. 31-year-old Juan Thompson faces one count of cyberstalking for the threats.
According to the complaint, Thompson made threats to Jewish community centers in his ex-girlfriend's name and also made threats in his own name and then later claimed his ex-girlfriend did them in a way to falsely implicate him.
Thompson was fired from The Intercept, an online news publication, for allegedly making up sources.
