Attorney General Jeff Sessions says he will recuse himself from any current or future investigations into the alleged ties between Russia and the Trump campaign after he came under fire for his alleged denial of two meetings he had with Russian officials during the presidential election.
On Wednesday, The Washington Post reported Jeff Sessions spoke to the Russian ambassador to the United States twice last year, but denied any contact with Russian officials during his confirmation hearing. The Post reported one of the meetings was a private conversation that took place in the then-senator's office in September.
During a press conference, Sessions said he did meet with the Russian ambassador after the ambassador sent a staffer to request a meeting with him. Sessions said he met him with several of his staffers. They talked about Ukraine and he said he didn't recall talking about Trump and the campaign or any political conversation for that matter.
