Drinking Alcohol Can Increase Your Risk of Cancer, Doctors Warn

Doctors from the American Society of Clinical Oncology warn drinking alcohol, whether you’re a light or heavy drinker, is linked with increased risk of cancer. ASCO says alcohol is a definite risk factor for cancer, but most Americans don’t recognize that.

ASCO found between 5-6% of new cancers and cancer deaths around the world are directly attributable to alcohol.

ASCO’s National Cancer Opinion Survey found only 38% of Americans were limiting their alcohol intake as a way to reduce their risk for cancer.
