Judge Blocks Trump's Third Attempt at Travel Ban

A federal judge in Hawaii has largely blocked President Trump’s third attempt at a travel ban a day before it was scheduled to go into effect.

Judge Derrick Watson said the travel ban “suffers from precisely the same maladies as its predecessor: it lacks sufficient findings that the entry of more than 150 million nationals from six specified countries would be ‘detrimental to the interests of the United States,' and it “plainly discriminates based on nationality.”

NPR reports the Department of Justice plans to appeal.
