Veterans Faring Better Financially Than Non-Veterans, Study Finds

Veterans are in better financial shape than non-veterans, according to a study from FINRA. The study found veterans are 22 percent less likely to be unemployed than civilians and are two percent more likely to be covered by health insurance. Researchers also found veterans are five percent more likely to be satisfied with their financial condition, four percent more likely to have an emergency savings fund and four percent less likely to have difficulty covering their monthly expenses.

But, on the flip side, the study found veterans are 40 percent more likely to be underwater on their home and 28 percent more likely to have made a late home payment in the past year.
