President Donald Trump takes executive action to begin construction of the Mexico border wall. Trump's move was a part of several measures on immigration and border security, which he rolled out at the Department of Homeland Security.
Trump told ABC News construction of the wall will start within months. During the interview, Trump said U.S. taxpayers will fund the construction, but reiterated his claim that Mexico will pay for the wall -- in full -- later. Mexican officials have said they will not pay for the wall.
NPR reports the border wall falls under an executive action called Border Security and Immigration Enforcement Improvements. According to NPR, the order also includes hiring more Border Patrol agents and expanding detention space.
