President Barack Obama held his last press conference. He thanked the press for their hard work.
He told reporters America needs them and so does the U.S.'s democracy. After that, he took questions from reporters.
Obama said he commuted Chelsea Manning's sentence because it made sense to commute.
He said she took responsibility for her crime and "the sentence that she received was very disproportional - disproportionate relative to what other leakers had received."
Obama closed the questioning by joking with reporters. He said "behind closed doors, I curse more than I do publicly ... and sometimes I get mad and frustrated like everybody else does, but at my core, I think we’re going to be OK. We just have to fight for it, we have to work for it and not take it for granted and I know that you will help us do that.
